In Alcon Entertainment’s fast-paced, high-adrenaline action thriller “Point Break,” a young FBI agent, Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey), infiltrates a cunning team of thrill-seeking elite athletes, led by the charismatic Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez). The athletes are suspected of carrying out a spate of crimes in extremely unusual ways.

Deep undercover, and with his life in imminent danger, Utah strives to prove they are the architects of this string of inconceivable crimes.

The film is replete with the most daring athleticism ever seen in a motion picture. These action adventure feats are performed by elite athletes representing the world’s best in class in big wave surfing, wingsuit flying, sheer-face snowboarding, free rock climbing, and high-speed motocross riding.

Directed by Ericson Core (“Invincible”), “Point Break” stars Edgar Ramirez (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “The Bourne Ultimatum,” “Carlos the Jackal”) as Bodhi, and Luke Bracey (“G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” “November Man”) as Johnny Utah, along with Teresa Palmer (“Warm Bodies”), Delroy Lindo (“Sahara,” “Gone in Sixty Seconds”), and Ray Winstone (“Noah,” “The Departed”).

The screenplay is by Kurt Wimmer (“Salt,” “Law Abiding Citizen”), story by Rick King & W. Peter Iliff and Kurt Wimmer. Alcon principals Andrew A. Kosove and Broderick Johnson produced, with producers John Baldecchi, David Valdés, Christopher Taylor and Kurt Wimmer. The film is based upon the motion picture “Point Break,” screenplay by W. Peter Iliff, story by Rick King & W. Peter Iliff. John McMurrick, Dan Mintz, Wu Bing, Robert L. Levy and Peter Abrams served as executive producers, with co-producers Henning Molfenter, Charlie Woebcken and Christoph Fisser.

Renowned extreme athletes participated in the “Point Break” production in multiple capacities, many of them performing stunts or serving as stunt coordinators and technical advisors. They include surfers Laird Hamilton, Sebastian Zietz, Makuakai Rothman, Billy Kemper, Brian Keaulana, Ahanu Tson-dru, Ian Walsh, Laurence “Laurie” Towner, Dylan Longbottom, Albee Layer, Bruce Irons, Tikanui Smith, Tuhiti Humani, Mark Healy and Raimana Van Bastolear; snowboarders Xavier De Le Rue, Iouri Podladtchikov, Louie Vito, Christian Haller, Lucas DeBari, Ralph Backstrom and Mitch Toelderer; skateboarders Bob Burnquist and Eric Koston; motorcyclists Riley Harper and Oakley Lehman; wingsuit stunt pilots Jon Devore, Julian Boulle, Noah Bahnson, Jhonathan Florez, Michael Swanson and Jeb Corliss; and free climber Chris Sharma, among others.

Cameos include World Champion Ironman triathletes Faris Al-Sultan and Michael Raelert, as well as DJs Steve Aoki, Seth Troxler and The Art Department, and sports commentator and TV host Sal Masekela.

In addition to directing the film, Ericson Core was also its director of photography, having previously served as director of photography on such films as “Invincible,” “The Fast and the Furious” and “Payback.” The creative filmmaking team includes production designer Udo Kramer (“North Face,” “The Physician”); editors Thom Noble (“Thelma & Louise,” Oscar winner for “Witness”), Gerald B. Greenberg (Oscar winner for “The French Connection”), and John Duffy (National Geographic’s “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey”); Oscar-nominated costume designer Lisy Christl (“Anonymous,” “White House Down”); composer Tom Holkenberg (“Mad Max: Fury Road”); and Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor John Nelson (“Gladiator”).

“Point Break” is inspired by the classic 1991 hit starring Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. It is scheduled for release in Real D 3D and 2D on December 25, 2015.
